Lightweight timber, easy to machine, and takes a good finish. Watch out for resin exudation as this can be a problem with humidors. Usually averted during kiln drying, which tends to set the resin.
Description and uses:
The timber of choice for making cigar humidors, it is also used as an insect repellent in cupboards and kists. Was used extensively in the past for lightweight racing hulls. When used for humidors, make sure there is no resin exudation. Not usually a problem in small dimensions.
