It exhibits slow bending properties and works easily with hand and machine tools. There is a moderate blunting effect on cutting edges, but the wood stains easily and can be brought to an excellent finish.
An excellent turnery wood, Bubinga is used for knife handles and brush backs. Its chief use is for sliced decorative veneers for cabinets and panelling.
